Perio as my love..

Well, although Periodontics was never my primary career option, right now am in love with this branch, not for its immunology or for its genetics but because of those surgeries for which am addict of.
As my Guide (Dr.Aruna) says- ''Surgery is addiction''!
once u start doing periodontal surgeries, ur in love with them...
Trust me it has happened with me..

It all started when i started my 1st periodontal surgery in the month of march 2009. My 1st incision was internal bevel, 1st quandrant, from 14 to 17. I had no fear when i was asked to do this by Dr.Vinayak who was guiding my surgery. Although i was very anxious, apprehensive and pretty excited and some kind of relief like - ah i finally started with my own periodontal surgery after 1 year of hand and ultrasonic scaling root planings!

The day was a big day for me, i felt like i achieved something, i celebrated that evening by calling and sharing it with my parents, brother and friends. Apparently my parents and brother didnt have slightest idea what i was talking about, but it was really sweet of them that they shared my happiness politely and encouraged me.

I was too excited about doing these surgeries, piled up numerous cases and also created a record maximum no: of surgeries for one of the following month among all the PGs in the department.

Also after couple of surgeries i got a compliment that among 1st surgeries within my batch, mine was the best..oooh, that just made me soo light that i was top of world..

The days went on, did various distomolar surgeries, papilla preservation flaps, bone grafting, GTR membrane placement, continuous sutures, anchor sutures, horizontal and vertical mattress sutures- which were just in various pages of Carranza until i did..
